So, while playing with the W52S and writing reports for that blog, I got curious...
Turns out I was wrong about some things on the 42, AND uncovered something rather exciting!
1: Music - Using AMP, you can load music to the phone memory, without an external memory card installed. Thus, you dont NEED card for music. Loading via Sonic Stage (thus allowing mp3 files, since AMP will only convert .wma and .m4a files to attrak), you still need the mem card. Music shows up in the auMusic menu as seperate entries for the phone or mem stick.
2: VIDEO! - yes.. full movies. Convert them with Sony Image Converter 2 or 3. Copy them to the memory stick IO folder. Then, on the phone, go to "external memory, PC folder" select the movie file, hit option, then select copy/move to memory stick/phone. When the folder locator comes up, select "File corresponding" Then, watch the move by browsing the memstic or phone's Data folder.. You will see a new entry "EZmovie"

Thats cool! I can't wait for my usb cable to arrive...i have the phone with me. I have installed sonic stage as well...but i left my cable in japan. Now,if u don't mind..can you post a step by step instructions on this? I'm sorry i'm kinda slow..lolz

It is great pleasure to read you again. I also have W42S and second one is W41S. The second way for putting a video on BOTH and I think all sony boundled cell phones from KDDI (which posess a camera) is as follow:
in Memory Stick - go MG(*:)\MOBILE\AU\DF\D_EM\
if there is no D_EM create it and make it hidde (all folders in this location are hidden so make sure you check in view option show hidden files.
Then convert video file to *.3G2 format, I use Taotal Video Converter but anythink capable to create 3G2 file is good. Think is, resolution should not be larger then 320/240 (which is the best) and even so, sometimes my W42S dont wan to play movie which is playable by W51S. Anyway, you can change resolution to lower and then even W42S will work.
Then important think, name of files in directory: you have to rename converted file to following file name
EMA_0000.3G2 (or EMS_0000.3G2) and make it hidden when you download them to D_EM folder.
if you want 2nd or 3rd file to copy
rename EMA_0001.3G2
0002.....0003 sequence.
